Magic City Muscle lifter Gary Clock was a member of the Power and Intensity Team
Champions out of Tucson, AZ at the Tom Manno Western States Nationals in Mesa,
Arizona on May 5, 2012.
Gary won the 198 lb class in unequipped powerlifting. He had a 375 squat, 270 bench press
(world record for M3), and a 435 deadlift for a 1080 total( world record M3).
Gary also won 198 powersports with a 132 lb curl, 270 bench, and a 435 deadlift for a total of
837.  Gary won the 198 lb push pull division with a combined 270 bench and 435 deadlift.  
Gary lifted in M3 (60-69 age group).

Minot's only Drug Free powerlifting team lifts out of the Minot YMCA. We started our
club in 2002 when we attended our first NASA (Natural Athletes Strength Association)
national meet in Nashville, Tn. We are are a drug free team that is dedicated to that
cause. Our association is centered in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Rich Peters is the head
of NASA.  Gary Clock is the North Dakota state records chairman.

On November 5-6, Magic City Muscle had three members go the Master/Submaster
Nationals in Mesa, Arizona. We had a good meet to represent the team.
Keith Berger, lifted in the M3 (63) 181 lb class.  Keith won powersports with a 138 curl,
264 bench and a 347 deadlift for a 749 total. Keith also won enquipped powerlifting with
a 231 squat, 264 bench and a 347 dead for an 843 total.  Keith also won unequipped
Bench Only with a 264 bench.  Keith had the honor to be the meets Best lifter in
powersports and won the Best Lifter Belt.  Congratualtions, Keith!

Bob Brunner lifted in submaster for the first time in the 308 lb division.  Bob had a great
meet.  He curled 165 in curl only.  In bench only, he benched a monster 529 lbs.  He
almost had 540 on a 4th attempt.  Bob followed with a huge 685 deadlift to make his
push/pull total 1214 lbs, another record!  Great day for a 30 year old, Bob!

Gary Clock lifted in the M3 242 lb class.  The 62 year old Minoter had a 590 squat. a
424 bench press and a 523 deadlift for a 1537 total. Gary also won bench only, 424, and
Push/Pull with a 947 total.                             
We had a great time.  Good meet, good people and great weather. If you are over 30,
you should try to get to this meet!

Grand Forks lifters Keith Berger and Josh Johnson did quite well at the 2012 Natural National
in Oklahoma City on Jan 21-22.  Keith lifted in 181 lb class M3 (60+) in powersports. Keith won
his division with a 126 curl, 259 bench and a 341 deadlift for a 727 total.  Keith also won first in
bench only with a 259 bench.
Josh Johnson lifted in the 242 lb Teen division in unequipped powerlifting and won a close fought
battle with a lifter from MO. Josh squatted 496, benched 336 and deadlifted 556 (American
Record) for a total of 1389 (American Record). Outstanding job for his first national meet!
