2006 North Dakota NASA State Championships

The North Dakota State Powerlifting meet was a big sucesss We had 22 entries, an increase from last year. Meet directors Boyd Strand and Norm Judd did an outstanding job putting on the meet. Some of the highlites: 308  SM 2 John Apland had a great day with a 766 squat, 457 bench and a 700 deadlift for a total of 1923. This the highest state total in ND for a NASA lifter. John also set an American record in the push/pull with an 1157 total.Great job, John! M 2 198 Brad Weber squatted 523, benched 407 AR, and deadlifted 540 for 1470 total. Brad also set an American  push/pull record at 947. Grandpa's rule, Brad! Gary Clock, M 2 220 had his best day at 220 with a 562 squat, 424 bench 545 dead total 1531. Gary broke the American push/pull record with a 970. Diane Siveny broke the American push/pull record in the 148 lb M 1 class. Linda Abel, 132 M2 broke the American record in push/pull with 266. She broke the unequipped squat 132 and deadlift 184 American records. Eric Rochholz, 15 year old 123 lb set new American records in unquipped 176 squat, 121 bench 237 deadlift and 534 total, Great job!! Thanks to our spotters and judges. Announcer Doreen Clock and score keeper Stoney Klimpel did a outstanding job keeping the meet going.   Jason Dalen from Dickinson did a nice job in his first NASA meet setting quite few records.

Tyler Bryant lifted well after having his cast removed from his wrist the day before. Bill Matus had a tough day, passing out on his last squat. He'll be back.
